This Consultancy came about through the sincere wish to make things better for workers and for employers. If Psychosocial Health & Safety and Wellness initiatives are in place, workers are happier. The flow-on effect of this is increased productivity and engagement. This also means less absenteeism, less presenteeism and reduced staff turnover. A real cost saving right there.  With the emergence of Psychosocial Health & Safety and Wellness, the time to start is now.

I started my journey into Psychological Health & Safety and Wellbeing with my Psychology degree. To further this interest, I did a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health. After this I worked in a leadership role in pastoral care, innovating processes, quality and compliance with industry regulations. However, with my interest in health still strong, I studied and became a primary health practitioner namely as a midwife. This was also a transition to working in large organizations. It was during this time that I identified an urgent need for Psychosocial Health & Safety in the workplace. So onwards I went to enrol in a Master of Business management. There my learning focus was around what is effective leadership and how safety enables excellence in team work. Employee Wellbeing and Psychosocial Health & Safety is key for high achieving teams. In my Work I lean heavily on the Canadian Standard for Psychological Health & Safety which is researched and proven. Naturally I also keep abreast with WorkSafe NZ on the topic. I am a member of the New Zealand Institute for Safety Management.
